Amanda Scampini has been practicing since the early 2000’s and fell into the Iyengar tradition in 2016. She has studied under Jito Yumibe at Iyengar Yoga South Bay since 2018 and is certified at Level 1. She traveled to Pune in 2018 for BKS Iyengar’s Centenary celebrations and was taught by Geeta and Prashant Iyengar. She regularly attends workshops and conventions with the Iyengar family and senior teachers in the United States, and she has been studying directly with the Iyengar family at RIMYI in India through online classes.
Though she always planned to teach, it was her experience during her first pregnancy and postpartum that solidified any doubts. Her experience led to a deeper understanding of asana and pranayama, and it improved her ability to teach all bodies in general. She especially enjoys sharing yoga with others and hearing how it positively influences their daily lives.
Amanda is currently on pregnancy leave and will be back soon.
